Lessons

We are currently accepting lesson requests only for the days listed below. Requests for lessons beyond February 10th will not be processed at this time. Please thoroughly read the lesson descriptions, paying attention to age, day and time limitations, BEFORE you contact the Loup. We ask that you submit your request at least 48 hours in advance of the desired lesson day.

  • January 29th, 30th & 31st
  • February 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th & 10th

If you have not secured a reservation with advance payment, on the day you would like to book a lesson you can call (509) 557-3404 or come to the Lesson Window to check availability.

For the health and safety of everyone: Because of Covid restrictions, we are not offering private or group lessons to students younger than 7. Students in all lessons must be able to put on equipment, ride the rope tow and get up from the snow without the physical aid of their instructor. If the young student is not independent, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will assist.

Ski/Ride P.E.

Sorry, this program is full.

The Loup is excited to offer a new Group Lessons program for the coming season. Ski/Ride P.E. includes 6-session Group Lessons on Wednesdays or Fridays for ages 7-18.

This winter it may be difficult for parents to come up with outside activities while we all wait for “normal” to return. Since many students are now at home from school during the week, we are offering this 6-session P.E. class, in either skiing or snowboarding, to provide physical activity to keep kids fit, entertained and burning off that extra cooped-up energy. Ski/Ride P.E. is friendly, fun and lightly structured, with ability levels ranging from beginner to intermediate.

  • Class size will be limited to five students per class and grouped by ability. There must be a minimum of 3 students to form a group.

  • It is helpful if students attend the same day each week. However, if they need to come on Wednesday one week and Friday the next, with advance notice we will do our best to accommodate their schedule.
  • These are not drop-in lessons. Classes are sequential and progressive. Students are expected to attend every week through the end of the program. There are no refunds offered for missed sessions.

Schedule
Wednesdays • Jan 6, 13, 20, 27 & Feb 3, 10 • 1:00-2:00 PM
Fridays • Jan 8, 15, 22, 29 & Feb 5, 12 • 10:00-11:00 AM

Cost
$149 per person*

*Lesson price does not include rental equipment or lift ticket. Equipment rental can be arranged at the Rental Shop on the Hill.

Adventure Camp

Sorry, this program is full.

AC is a 6-session camp focusing on the development of ski and ride techniques necessary to mastering the all-mountain/all-terrain demands of the sport. A fast-moving program that provides the know-how and guidance to develop strong skills, these sessions are designed for ski and snowboard rippers!

Advanced concepts in carving, steeps, trees, moguls and varying snow conditions (powder to ice and crud to corduroy) will be at the heart of the program. AC is offered to those skiers and riders who already possess an upper intermediate to advanced level of skill and would like to open the throttle a bit more under helpful instruction.

  • Skill is considered over age. Adventure Campers are rippers ranging in age from 10–18. However, at our discretion, we will consider those under 10 years, who are at least an advanced intermediate in the sport and able to ski/ride most of the runs at the Loup. To create uniform classes, skills will be evaluated on first day of the camp.

  • Class length is 2-hours and groups will be limited to five students. There must be a minimum of 3 students to form a group.
  • Campers may attend either or both Wednesdays and Sundays until they have attended 6 sessions. Sessions must be completed no later than February 14. There are no refunds offered for missed sessions.

Schedule
Wednesdays • Jan 6, 13, 20, 27 & Feb 3, 10 • 1:00-3:00 PM
Sundays • Jan 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 & Feb 7 • 10:00-12:00 PM or 1:00-3:00 PM

Cost
$149 per person*

*Lesson price does not include rental equipment or lift ticket. Equipment rental can be arranged at the Rental Shop on the Hill.

Mommy/Daddy & Me

Sorry, this program is full.

For the 2020-2021 season we are making changes to our traditional Tots program. The changes reflect an industry-wide need to comply with social distancing requirements between instructors and the young student. Mommy/Daddy & Me is a flexible private 4-lesson program for 4–6-year olds, where one parent (beginner or experienced) participates in the lesson with the child.

Since the young beginner often needs assistance getting back up onto their skis, a parent will be required to assist. This limits close contact between student and instructor. The benefit to this arrangement will be providing the parent instructional language and techniques that can be used to follow up and support the student long after the program is over.

  • The 4th lesson must be completed no later than February 28th.
Please be sure you can attend 4 lessons on Sundays between January 3–February 28. No refunds are offered for missed lessons.
  • Lessons can be scheduled at any time there is an instructor available on those Sundays and need not be taken on consecutive weeks.

  • Ideally the same adult will attend every lesson. Beginner level parents will learn the basics of skiing along with their child. More experienced parents will learn teaching techniques that can be useful after the completion of the program.

Schedule
Sundays • Jan 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 & Feb 7, 14, 21, 28

Cost
$160 adult/child*

*Lift tickets for child and adult are included in this price. Equipment rental can be arranged at the Rental Shop on the Hill.
